Continue this for the other 2 bags.
EVIDENCE of MASTERY: Students will conclude what is the main idea of each bag - completing the graphic organizer.
Station 4/Reading - Independent Product - Bold School High Effect Strategy of Self-Assessment
5 students using classroom computers.
TLW read independently (silently) a current event article taken from ReadWorks that is posted in their Class OneNote notebooks. NOTE: Students in lower reading levels will be assigned the "StepReads" article that meets their reading level.
If a student needs it read aloud, he/she may use Immersive Reader in OneNote to have it read to them.
TLW have a writing prompt in which a short paragraph is written that explains the idea of the article and two details from the article must be included that supports the main idea.
TLW highlight key details in the text to support the main idea.
TLW write their writing prompt in their personal section of the Class Notebook.
EVIDENCE of MASTERY: Students will score a 4 or 5 on the rubric created for the writing prompt.
Enrichment: If time permits and students score above 80% in station 2, he/she may begin the enrichment activity created in Brain Pop. Activity is to watch the "Main Idea" clip; then the student will use "Make-a-Map" to create a concept map from scratch based off of the "Enrichment" article found in their Class Notebook Content Library.
Portfolio Element 3 Digital Citizenship
Students KDG-5 Students are taught digital citizenship lessons at the beginning of the year through their technology related arts location with educational assistants. Using Commonsensemedia.org curriculum, the ITC and the guidance counselor will work toward creating a schedule to teach specific grade-level DC lessons during related arts guidance counselor rotation in the late spring. Digital Citizenship will be modeled through Class Dojo, Twitter, school and class webpages, and emails directly to students. Teachers & Admin Teaching teachers how they can be a role-model to their students throughout their technology explorations and utilization through modeling in faculty-wide training sessions, professional development, and one-on-one training sessions. Be a model through social media. Parents Modeling digital citizenship through all social media (School Story Class Dojo, School Web Page, School Twitter) is a must to be a great example to parents and responses to social media. Information will be sent home after students are taught a digital citizenship lesson to parents/guardians to reinforce the same principles taught at home. Providing Commonsensemedia.org material on digital citizenship through ClassDojo is an avenue that will be utilized throughout the school year.
